The exhibition “If Didon dreamed up there, Theo would see her from here” shows the work of three artists who work different mediums: painting, sculpture and installation, in spaces redefined by their intervention.
Gerlinde FROMMHERZ, Jérémie SETTON and Francis DE HITA invite us to experience shapes and materials with the common denominator of a certain practice of drawing, born of cutting or withdrawal.
Playing at the same time on questions of scale and reversal, they incite us to do a work of re – construction. By unfolding the wire of the history of the painting, by updating principles of architectural constructions, their propositions artists lead us to apprehend a space that oscillates between two dimensions, to trap the mechanism of vision and to return to our perception of a certain reality …
